Birth Outcomes Map

The three maps shown on tabs below include Louisiana parishes, State Senate Districts, and State House Districts. Data shown for each geographic area are two adverse birth outcomes commonly used to gauge maternal and child population health: low birth weight (an infant born weighting less than 5.5 lbs) and preterm birth (an infant born before 37 weeks gestation).

Use the race/ethnicity and year filters to explore how the percentage of births that are low birth weight or preterm differs by place, people, and time.
